Graffiti
I must admit that in the beginning I didn’t like graffiti so much, but my opinion about it has changed. Graffiti has many facets: it might be just very colorful or simple with tags, but it can be funny, artful and even political, too. I have assorted some graffiti that appealed to me. Hope you like it, too.

I’ve always had a fond spot for graffiti. Something about the fact it’s so illicit, and can appear in the most random of places. There’s something very spontaneous about it.

I too have mixed feelings about graffiti. But their expression of creativity and opinions can’t be denied.

I have the same feelings here that I do not like much or at all at the beginning. Lately, I think they improve and I start to like them now.

Awesome graffiti! I love graffiti as long as it is not too offensive and as long as it is done with some taste and discretion. Sometimes good graffiti reflects more creativity than what’s in the art museums! 🙂

When we toured Italy a couple of years ago, I was appalled at the graffiti scrawled on the buildings, blocks of buildings. There was nothing beautiful about it because it was just someone spraying lines of paint as far as they could reach. It really was offensive. BUT, I really appreciate wall murals or wall art or whatever one wants to call it when it is done in accordance with the law, and the person doing it has some artistic talent. 🙂 I like the bug on the door and the last photo – someone had skills. 🙂

I completely agree with you, and here it’s forbidden, too, but -as you said – some people have skills and it’s in a way like a free of charge exhibition, regards Mitza

Ich habe ein paar Schablonen-Sprüh-Graffiti-Bilder mit Insekten gesammelt und schnell einen Beitrag davon gebastelt. 🙂

I very much liked your post, not just because they contain some impressive images, but also because I experienced a similar attitudinal change regarding graffiti. While some of the art we find mostly on city walls and buildings are downright ugly in my opinion, many are beautiful to look at and often have a powerful message. After some glorious winter days there is another snow fall warning in effect for our western corner of Canada. Have a good day, Mitza!

Thank you, Peter, for your kind words. Quite a lot of people seem to think like we do about graffiti. I specially like Bloodymir Putin. We have a little snow here, too and it’s very cold and icy on the atreets, which makes viking rather dangerous, kind regards Mitza

I prefer graffiti to some of the so-called public art that are commissioned to pollute public spaces and waste taxpayers’ money. At least graffiti can be painted over if they are offensive. You have chosen well for your collection, Mitza.

There is street art, allowed by the building owner and graffiti, which is not. I think that makes a difference. The talent is obvious, however.
