Enchanted spring

Embedded in the magenta of a Magnolia blossom,

tender petals like the soft touch of a loverโ€™s hand,

a little green fly with translucent wings covered with dew-

drops is waiting for the sun

spring is coddling the world with enchanting colors

making forget the black and white death

the first butterflies are staggering through the air

wearing white wafting tunics with black dots

drunk with bliss –

the dance of the Cherubim

  1. As I read your beautiful poem, I feel that spring cannot be far even in our part of geography where winter comes earlier and spring comes later. In the season of renewal you found the right words to spell out the mystery of life in the midst of death. The amazing floral images underline what your poem so wonderfully describes. Thank you for this gift of love, Mitza!

    • Hi Debi, thanks for your kind words. In the last weeks we have been very busy to find a house. It’s about 2 hours far away from Hamburg, Southeast at the Elbe river. The weather is similar like in Hamburg. I wish it would be over soon, it’s tiring to drive there. We’re on the road sometimes 6 hours in one day, too many traffic jams on the freeway, all the best, regards Mitza

  4. Wonderful to read your words dear Mitza, and to be able to study your flower details. Thank you so much for sharing. What a wonderful time Spring really is when everything comes to life again and ‘hope’ for the earth and for humankind is in the air. Have a lovely and restful weekend.
