All those raindrops

IMG_3179

All those raindrops falling down on me –

like a veil of tender glittering diamond lace –

wrap me in opaque sadness –

Salty tears mix with the rain,

running down to my lips

tasting half sweet, mostly bitter,

washing away the memories of kisses you granted to me –

What else can I do than wipe those acrimonious tears away,

doing as if nothing happened,

with a shillyshally smile,

pretending that everything is fine –

No, I didn’t think of you….

It’s a lie….

Don’t believe it when I say so,

the truth is that every thought is

only about you,

your eyes that are sunshine

your mind that is beauty

your body that is love…

And the rain is still falling down on me,

like a veil of sadness,

like a final curtain in a cinema,

because you are so far away –

one last tear falls down from my lashes

on your photo,

like a huge diamond, only for you –

my soulmate

Our garden in May

This time of the year is really beautiful. Everything is blooming, there are a lot of insects in our garden, butterflies, bees, bumblebees, European hornets etc. Today I’ll show you some of the flowers and shrubs we have in our little garden.

The colors of spring

In all colors of spring I only see your face

shining with joy like the sun on narcissuses

and the keys of heaven are in your hands

In my sleepless nights

I’m walking under the moon

to catch a falling star for you

who is so far away

I’m looking up to the Milky Way

and Andromeda understands

that there’s a tender flame in my heart

Pick me a tulip, a primrose,

some hellebores in wonderful soft colors like an aquarelle

what else could I ask from you?

And in my darkest hours when demons haunt my soul

give me a hug for an eternity

yes, it rained, these are dew-drops on the flowers, no tears

When the last roses are blooming…

When the last roses are blooming in withering colors and their buds don’t dare to unfurl anymore, the world is slowly getting sad and grey, and my heart is filled with wistfulness as if a witch had pulled a night blue veil over my head. Summer gives a feeling of eternity, but autumn and winter a feeling of decay and death which weighs heavily on my heart.

Bright colors are leaving the earth like the God of the sun is drifting away in his carriage to give place to the moon and the darkness.

The sun loses its brightness and lightness and gives a melancholic touch to the earth. Dew drops are clinging at rose petals like my tears for the gone summer. The colors of decay adorn nature with resentment and opaqueness – a beauty in decay.

I photographed these last roses in Kefalonia in our landlord’s garden.

Mediterranean flowers and plants

Whenever I’m in Kefalonia/Greece I like to see the different kind of greenery. Wonderful and colorful flowers and plants are growing in the warm Mediterranean sun and they get along with very little water.

On my photographs you can see the following plants and flowers: a fan palm leaf, the fruits of an opuntia (some are edible), zinnia flowers with visitors, a jaccaranda tree in bloom, a yellow poppy, cyclamen and iris, a ziziphus tree with fruits, which are called “Chinese dates” (they are edible, very tasty and healthy, but quite rare), a tecomaria, an amaryllis belladonna (which is poisonous), a podranea and a datura.

Sitting here in the dark grey November weather in Hamburg I love to look at the photos from Kefalonia because I can remember the wonderful warm sun in Greece. I’m looking forward to going there next year. I wish you all sun in your hearts.

Little visitors in our garden in May

Our garden has a lot of little visitors as we don’t use any chemicals. We certainly don’t like slugs because they know exactly our favorite flowers and eat them up first, and they don’t have any natural enemies.  But all the other little critters are welcome. I usually take a walk in the evening with my camera, two close-up lenses and a magnifying glass to look for these little visitors. Right now, when the flowers start to bloom, it’s really wonderful to look at all the changes every day. Look how nice the little fluffy butterfly is hanging in the columbine. How must it feel to be a little snail being embraced by the petals of peony flower? The ant is climbing-up another peony like on a mountain. So come for a little walk with me to our garden…

A time of magic

A time of magic

Reluctantly night is thrusting the black velvety curtain aside –

angels are collecting billions of twinkling stars in their aprons.

The first sunbeams are falling silently on the ground,

falling on wet moss,

falling on glittering dew drops, enlightening the world with hope.

A green lizard is looking into the sky with beady little eyes

whilst a young nightingale tries its first love song.

Fairies are blending colors on their palettes, splashing

a little white and magenta on tulips,

a little yellow and salmon on narcissuses

and blue on forget-me-nots.

A black beetle with long antennas got drunk with bliss in a pink blossom,

his legs and antennas covered with yellow pollen

that he would generously pass- on to other blooms

There’s a certain magic in the air –

everything is renewed, fresh and beautiful, virgin like, angel like, enchanted

Spring – a time of magic

Enchanted spring

Embedded in the magenta of a Magnolia blossom,

tender petals like the soft touch of a lover’s hand,

a little green fly with translucent wings covered with dew-

drops is waiting for the sun

spring is coddling the world with enchanting colors

making forget the black and white death

the first butterflies are staggering through the air

wearing white wafting tunics with black dots

drunk with bliss –

the dance of the Cherubim
